Gracious God, look down with Your love upon this faithful reader; bless and protect him/her and fill their needs. In Jesus' Name, amen.
As we have journeyed this week on the road of faith we have discovered that it is not easy. We find as a help, a checklist of sorts, in 1 Thess. 5:16-24:
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise the words of prophets, 21 but test everything; hold fast to what is good; 22 abstain from every form of evil. 23 May the God of peace himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do this.
We can make it a checklist as we say, number 1: Be filled with joy. 2: Pray all the time. 3: Give thanks regardless of circumstances. 4: Be filled with God's Spirit; don't resist Him. 5: Learn from those who have spoken for God. 6: Through prayer and reflection, know what is of God and what is good; stay away from the opposite. 7: Pray that God will make us completely holy, and finally, 8: Know that God will do just that.
PRAYER: God of our faith, may that list bless me into being Your person; not only today, but all days. May I seek to be more of a person who talks and walks with You. I ask this in Jesus' Name, amen.
