Good day dear friends.
Here is our text for today: Deut. 6: 4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD is our God, the LORD alone. 5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. 6 Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. 7 Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. 8 Bind them as a sign on your hand, fix them as an emblem {Or [as a frontlet]} on your forehead, 9 and write them on the doorposts of your house.
The last part of our faith journey series was on our witness. Using the Old Testament, we find the Shema, the core of belief for the Jews. "Hear, O Israel: The LORD is our God, the LORD alone." It is a constant reminder that we are believers in the one true, living God. When first issued, God wanted His people to know they were among other people who believed in a multitude of gods and their faith was one unlike others, their faith was in one God. The declaration of faith was followed by a way in which to live: Contantly in love with God!
The conclusion of the text is that of instruction. Teach your children or in other words, teach your household of your faith. And the easiest and best way, is to live it. Live your faith in a faithful witness that tells other who you are and Whose you are.
PRAYER: Living God, increase my faith and let me live it in a way that glorifies You. I ask this in Jesus' Name, amen.
Have a great and blessed day in the Lord!
