Holy.  Yes, holy is God, Our God

God rules. On your toes, everybody! He rules from his angel throne - take notice! God looms majestic in Zion, He towers in splendor over all the big names.  Great and terrible your beauty: let everyone praise you! Holy. Yes, holy.  Strong King, lover of justice, You laid things out fair and square; You set down the foundations in Jacob, Foundation stones of just and right ways.  Honor God, our God; worship his rule! Holy. Yes, holy.  Moses and Aaron were his priests, Samuel among those who prayed to him. They prayed to God and he answered them;  He spoke from the pillar of cloud. And they did what he said; they kept the law he gave them.  And then God, our God, answered them (But you were never soft on their sins).  Lift high God, our God; worship at his holy mountain. Holy. Yes, holy is God our God. (Exodus 99 The Message)

Good morning, dear Friend.  I apologize for not sharing a devotional yesterday; you see what happened was, that Nellie and I decided to drive straight home from Saint Louis to Seguin.  We looked at our GPS that gives the exact hour and minute we were to get home and we said, "Let's do it!"  And a little over 13 hours later, after two meal breaks, three hot tea stops, we arrived home on Thursday morning at 1:11 am.  Needless to say we went right to sleep and awoke with very little energy to do much.  The drive, the stress at the conference, the social media barrages, all added together resulted in my not having a thing to say.  Please continue to pray for me and all who were at this called session of the General Conference.

Today's passage is a lovely reminder about what life, church, you and me is all about: God.  God rules.  Yes, God rules.  We should never forget that or lose sight of that; everything else will fall into place.  The psalmist loved to spend time contemplating God and from time to time, he just reminded himself and all who would read his words, God matters.  A lot!  And we should never forget where we need to put God.  First.  In all things.  God deserves it.  God rules.  God rules from a splendid throne; His majesty is seen in Zion and all over the place.  God's beauty is worthy of our praise.  God is a strong king; who loves justice.  The order of creation reflects that creation; the foundation of all things came from God and can withstand all things, both good and bad.  As the ancient priests did, so should we; worship God, pray to God, share God with all people.  God listens to our prayers, and God answers prayer.  All we should do, is listen and obey.  And let us not forget that in this holy realm of God, sin has no place.  God seeks to rid our lives of sin, and once forgiven, we continue our worship and praise of the Almighty!

PRAYER:  COME, Holy One, into my life.  Lift my spirits high and let me join all who on this day worship You and thank You for all You have done, and will do.  Use me to help others feel blessed and lifted.  Grant me opportunities to love and welcome all people in all places.  In Christ Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Have a great and blessed day in the Lord!  Lift someone's spirit today with a smile and a kind word.  Hug someone if necessary!
