"At that time Michael, the great prince, the protector of your people, shall arise. There shall be a time of anguish, such as has never occurred since nations first came into existence. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book. Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. (Daniel 12:1-3)
Dear Friend, you are the brightest bulb some people will see today, so shine brightly! I love the picture above because it shows how those who know the Lord Jesus can shine even in the darkness of those who do not yet know Him. You are the sermon that might touch a life; yours is the example and model of those who are seeking for hope and direction. Shine!
Why? This ancient text from the book of Daniel speaks of that which is coming. A time of "great anguish, such as has never occurred since nations first came into existence," but those whose name appears in the book, will escape the anguish. This will also be a time of awakening, "some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt." Hear the words: "Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever." We have heard the news; we have received them with joy and gladness and I pray our lives have turned around to follow Him who set us free. Our job is to serve Him in a way that shines before others. You know people like that, be like them. Their joy of life is abundant, enough to share. Their hope and peace is contagious, so should ours be. Their hope is apparent, and those who see it, want it. Live in that manner!
PRAYER: Loving God, let me be wise and shine. My name is in the Book of Life, put there in blood by Jesus and His blood. Let me live a life that guides others to the fullness and abundance of life. Help me overcome whatever I think stands in my way, so that not one more person be lost to the truth and love that is Yours for all people. This I ask in Jesus' precious and powerful name, amen.
