A LIVING SERMON

Good day dear friends. We had quite a storm pass through SM last night, and for a while we lost our TV and internet. I trust this finds all of you doing well.
Plans for Tess Norris' funeral call for a Monday morning funeral at the church at 10 a.m. There will be a visitation on Sunday afternoon at Pennington's Funeral Home.
Thank you for your prayers for my dad, who was released from the hospital yesterday afternoon. Exams run have not shown an heart or liver related causes for his chest pains. My dad will see his regular doctor in two weeks and his cardiologist in three.
Here is our study guide for today:Saturday: Numbers 1, 2, 3List some of the duties of the Levites related to their care of the Tabernacle.
The Levites were the priests of the people of God therefore held a special function and place in God's eyes. They were to be the only ones completely responsible for the tent and all the furnishings of worship in the tent. We can only begin to imagine the magnitude of that responsibility given the symbolism and power behind each item of worship. Our God did not desire a graven image to represent Him, but that was made up by the furnishings that represent God's presence and power in the Tent of the Dwelling.
Do we have anything that comes close to the furnishings from that era in our churches? For some people we do, but generally, no. There is a sacredness in our places of worship, but it does not replace the fact they were created for our use in our worship and not that we were made to worship representations of God. Every part of our worship space should reflect God's love for us and our love for God. We are a part of the priesthood of all believers. Our lives, thoughts, and actions should reflect a worshipful heart.
Let your life be the only sermon someone will "hear" today.
PRAYER: God of love, use me today to preach your word, and if necessary, give me words. I pray this in Jesus' name, amen.
Have a great and blessed day in the Lord!
